SAAIR SIG on Strategic and Enrolment Planning

SAAIR SEP-SIG

SAAIR Strategic and Enrolment Planning Special Interest Group

Background

The Strategic and Enrolment Planning (SEP) Special Interest Group (SIG) was established to create a collaborative space for higher education practitioners to engage on strategy development and enrolment planning within the South African higher education context. The SIG builds on a vision introduced by Dr Liile Lekena-Bayaga in 2022 through a series of webinars titled #Let’s Talk Strategy, hosted at Mangosuthu University of Technology. Following a pause in 2023, the SEP SIG was formally launched at the 2024 SAAIR Annual Conference. Its purpose is to promote shared learning, capacity building, and the exchange of good practices related to strategic planning, enrolment management, and data-informed decision-making across institutions.

Call to Action

The SEP SIG is currently undergoing a review process to align its focus and activities with emerging priorities and developments in the higher education sector.

Upcoming Webinar:

Updates on planned events and activities for 2026 will be communicated once this review and alignment process has been completed.
